What Has Happened to Charities?
What has happened to charities?  How could so many charities forget all about their mission statement?  Today there are very few charities that still follow their mission statement because it is now all about money and control.

Well, these things happen because the original people that started these charities either retire or pass on.  New leaders emerge and see an opportunity to make big bucks. Then the charity stops being a charity and becomes a BUSINESS and all about control and money.

I am the last person that thinks the government should get envolved in every part of our lives, but something has to be done. If these charities are run like a businesses, they should pay taxes like a business. They should not have the protection of 501-c-3 charities while running their charity like a business.
